I knew from a very early age that I needed to write. I always figured that someday I would write a novel. You know, that great elusive "Someday" that we all keep stored on a shelf somewhere until we can find that magical free moment that screams, "This is it! It's time! Time to take Someday out of the closet and do that thing you always promised yourself you'd do!"
Life became full and busy and time passed by, and Someday slowly but surely became forgotten.
I still journaled, wrote poetry, but the dream I'd always wanted to capture, writing a novel, was still sitting on a shelf waiting patiently with Someday.
Recently, in the last few years I had several things make me go back and take a good hard look at that shelf.
We lost several members of my family over a fairly short amount of time, and also over that span of time I had reached my fiftieth birthday.
It made me ponder about those we had lost. Did they ever take their Someday down off the dusty shelf? Did they they get to fulfill all the dreams they had planned for themselves? Then one day I came across this quote on Pinterest, and it really opened my eyes. It made me run to the shelf and yank Someday down and on that day Someday was officially christened, "Now."
I set out on a three year journey to fullfill my dream, and I finally wrote that novel! It will be available soon on Kindle! (Details to follow soon..)
I hope everyone remembers their lonely "Someday" sitting up on the shelf and they go out there and live their dream! Life is too short to do it any other way.
I can't wait to read your novel!
